Blog ni Lola Ising

Because of your overwhelming comments on my grandma’s poems posted here, she wrote, again, a poem for us. But, I realized, why not create a blog for my grandmother’s poems? She’s writing many poems right now, so why not? Right?

Today, I created a blog for my “Nanay”. And I called it, “Blog ni Lola Ising“. Filipino is the main language of the blog because most of my lola’s poems are in Filipino language.

I’ll be the one who will publish the poems, reply to your comments, and the over-all maintenance. My grandmother’s job is just create and create poems. Well, I know, she loves writing poems so, that will be a piece of cake for her.

She’ll be very happy when she know about this. Even she’s already at 60+ age group, my lola is still active, even at the web! Well, that’s my Lola!

A Poem for Manny Pacquiao by My Grandma

Last April 2009 my grandmother, Procesa Servigon gave me a copy of her poem and asked me if I could post it here at my blog. So, I posted it here to make her happy. I was glad to had my Grandma’s poem at my blog because I love her poems. I can say that she’s a natural writer.

And now, she gave me again another copy of another poem. This time, not dedicated to her family, but dedicated to Philippine’s Pride, Manny Pacquiao.

My Grandma’s Request

Me with my "Nanay"

My grandma or “Nanay” as I call her, asked me if I can put her new poem in my blog. She asked this because when her last visit here, I told her about blogging. I told her that blogging is one of the most wonderful thing in this world (right?), that this can be a source of income, and a source of good friends. When she heard this thing from me, she asked if she can make one. I said yes but she’s too old and she can’t use a computer–you know, there’s no computer when she’s a teen. I just told her that I would write a post dedicated to her here in my blog. And now, she gave me sheets of paper containing handwritten Filipino poem. This poem uses Filipino language so, English speakers, try to use Google Translate to translate this great poem.

Let’s begin…

“Pangarap Kong Pinangarap”

by: Procesa Añoza byuda de Servigon

Sa kalaliman ng gabi, ako’y di maidlip
Bumangon ako, at sumandaling nag-isp
Ala-ala ng lumipas, muling nagbabalik
Nang ako ay bata pa at isa pang paslit.
