I really love taking pictures of different beauties of nature – flowers, landscapes and other great earth stuffs. But recently, one of my cousins brought a basket full of flowers here in our place which he got from a wedding. He’s a wedding organizer and the newly weds gave it to him. The flowers are amazing. And of course, the next thing that I did was grabbing the photo opportunity!

My best friend, July, will be having her 18th birthday party this coming July 31, 2010. The party will be a huge one, so I decided to volunteer to be her photographer for her pictorial.

The concept of the shoot was simple. We had the pictorial somewhere at her auntie’s house. Luckily, this girl wasn’t shy in front of my camera that time. So we finished the pictorial easily.

Preparing for Another Great Photoshoot

It has been a while since I posted an entry here on my blog because I’ve been very busy these days. Last week, I was preparing for the upcoming school year 2010-2011. And this week, all people in our house were so busy because our new rest house is being constructed. My Mom is always going there to see the construction and I, being the only one who can drive, became the driver of my Mom – great.

It was really tiring, driving in different places. But it was kinda fun too because it feels exciting and really good to see our new rest house being built by many people. We are all excited for it. And right now, I am planning a photoshoot in our new rest house when it’s already done.

I am thinking of new concept for the shoot. I can make, another glamorous theme, maybe we can park a gorgeous car next to our rest house creating a perfect backdrop for a glamour-themed photo shoot. Or maybe, we can set a traditional Filipino courtship scene called harana. We can buy musical instruments for the guy and a nice dress for the girl. There are many ideas in my mind. But all these ideas must be put into test, we need to work on it.

Preparing for a photoshoot isn’t easy, but it’s fun. Especially when I’m working with my cousins – they’re really great when it comes to these stuffs. How about you? Do you have any idea about a great theme we can use for our next photo shoot?

1. Shutterpoint

You can receive up to an 85% payout from your photo sales on Shutterpoint. It offers customizable watermarks and theft prevention of your shots. You can also set up your own storefront.

2. Photo Stock Plus

One of the best features of Photo Stock Plus is that you can set your own markups for your listed stock photography and also take on special commissioned assignments, which can garner a little extra cash.

3. Crestock

Unlike some of the other stock photography sites, this agency doesn’t have membership fees or sign up fees to get started. You can get paid up to a 30% commission as soon as you get to 100 sales.

4. Fotolia

On this site, your royalties are based on your ranking and exclusivity of the photo. Right now, those commissions range between 25% and 63% – enough for a handsome ROI.

5. iStockphoto

iStockphoto pays 20% for each of your files that gets downloaded. For exclusive contributors, the rate goes up to 40%.

6. 123RF

You get a 50% commission from every photo downloaded. The referral programs allow you to get 15% of purchases from customers, and 10% of the downloads from referred photographers.

7. Bigstockphoto

Each photo goes through a review process before it is placed on Dreamstime, which helps maintain a high quality level of imagery on the site. The commissions range from 30-50% and exclusive images receive a 15% bonus.

10. DepositPhotos

Your commission rate goes up with each of the photos that you sell on DepositPhotos. If you offer exclusivity on your photos, the rate jumps to an attractive 60%.

When I was browsing the album folder of the photos of my eXperiment 4.0 photo set, I was kinda shocked of what I saw. I thought, the photoshoot that we did would result to only 20-30 photos. But that pictorial ended up with almost 100+ photos. It’s great, yes. But I can only post pictures here in limited number. But I think, the unpublished photos from eXperiment 4.0 Photo series should be published here on my blog because they’re nice enough to be here.

Mom’s Garden Flowers Photo Set 4

Another photo set is here, finally! After the success of last eXperiment Photo Series, I am posting another photo set here on my blog, in Mom’s Garden Flowers Photo Set Series.

My Mom and my aunt were fixing the garden, planting new ones and watering them. The temperature was not that hot that time so I decided to go out and take some pictures. And after an hour, the activity ended with eight amazing photos.

I am very happy that I finally had a photoshoot with a concept like this. This pictorial challenged me to think of the possible resources that I can use because I don’t have a studio, the right equipments and other photography stuffs. The only things that I have are my Canon EOS 1000D a tripod and a 300-watt Halogen Floodlight. But the results are there, and you’re the one who can only judge it.

I am very happy because the comments in the previous set of eXperiment 4.0 were all positive! I’m glad that you appreciated my art. Anyway, here’s the second set of the eXperiment 4.0 photo series. If the first set was a sexy-themed one, this second set is all about being glamorous and beautiful. Angel, Keith Anne and Camille gave their best smiles and poses for my lens. And thanks to our Hair and Make-up Artist, Ar Emh Artus, who transformed our young ladies from beautiful to a goddess.
