When Things Gone Wrong

Recently last month, Toyota – a huge auto company -  recalled 2.3 million vehicles across the America. The Toyota recall was said to be a campaign for safer cars on the road. The gas pedal issues which is related to dangerous acceleration issues made Toyota a big decision to recall a million vehicles. The car company said that these issues were most likely to occur after the gas pedals experience wear and tear. It is indeed nice that Toyota responded to this deadly issue.

Most of the Americans own a car, so most of the Americans were affected in this issue. Many said that it is safe to check your car if it is in a good condition before using it. And with this issue, many auto repair shops enjoyed the huge amount of customers that were having their services. Like in Los Angeles auto repair shops, most of them received many customers (most of them are Toyota/Lexus car owners) at their maintenance-check services.

Here in the Philippines, car companies said that there were no reasons to panic. Philippine cars were not affected by the issue that struck the America. But my uncle, who owns a Ford Explorer, said that his car is in a bad condition. His Ford car has a issue in the head gasket (located at the engine). My uncle said that he’s like an American citizen wanting his car to be recalled for a free service (because head gasket replacement costs a lot).

As of now, we only own one SUV, and in a very good condition. I hope there will be no problems in our car this coming year, and I hope my Dad will soon buy me my own car, too.
