Our Christmas this year was awesome. I mean, it’s amazing because of so many good things happened before the Christmas day and the Christmas day itself. Yeah, many things happened. And the gifts that I received this season made my Christmas even more special.
Let’s start first on “before the Christmas day”.
- At the first week of December, my Dad came home from Nigeria. He’s here for a vacation and to celebrate the holidays with us. He’s vacation will only last for a month so he’ll be going again to Nigeria on January. And I consider this as one of my cherished Christmas gift that I received – celebrating Christmas with the whole family.
- Then, at the third week of December, I received a box of Toblerone. Yes, lots of chocolates. And those chocolates were came from BatangYagit’s recent contest. I won the contest because of my blog post, “Dad, Thank You for All the Efforts to Make Our Lives Happier” I was so happy when I received the box and thankful because that was the first time that I received chocolates from a blog contest.
- The next week, I received another gift. This one is very special to me. I received a special gift from SM City Marilao (one of the famous malls here in the Philippines). Yeah, a special gift. Why special? Because only three bloggers where selected to be the recipients of the said gifts. Thank you SM City Marilao!
Those are only three specific gifts, or should I say, three of the most wonderful gifts that I received before Christmas. Yeah, because everyday, being alive and feel the world is a great gift from God that I cherish, too.
Next, the day when we celebrated Christmas.
- Family day. I must say that Christmas is our family’s one of the most special days. And I must say that we just proved it. Why? Because last December 25, we had a very happy time together. We went to Manila to celebrate with our relatives there. And one of the nicest things about that day, is that, my Dad was the one who drove for us! Yeah, that was his first time to drive to Manila with us.
- Lots of gifts. Of course, all of us receive gifts every Christmas. That’s a usual thing, right? But, I put it here on my list because I appreciate how people put efforts to give presents to me. They’re really nice.
- Happy moments. At 12:00 am, December 25, we had our Christmas party! We had a lot of fun, playing games, giving gifts and of course, dancing and partying ’til the night drops. It was indeed full of fun.
Ah, Christmas is indeed one of my most awaited holiday every year. Lots of happiness and blessings. But of course, let’s not forget the real birthday boy of Christmas, Jesus.
Dad, Thank You for All the Efforts to Make Our Lives Happier

It’s great that you had enjoyed yourself with family/friends on Christmas Day. With the occasion being commercialized, it’s great to be reminded that Jesus is the real deal and how we should be grateful for being saved.
Thanks for the message and wish you a fruitful year in 2010!

I kinda missed my dad when I read your blog post. Too bad he wasn’t able to come home last friday for christmas. But I think that distance would never be a hindrace for a family that cherish each other’s presence. My dad even called us on the noche buena just to greet us merry christmas. we talked like we were just few inches away.

It’s good to know that even his away, he’s still able to “be with you” this Christmas.
