Dad, Thank You for All the Efforts to Make Our Lives Happier

Me with my Dad

Me with my Dad

For so many years, my Dad lives miles away just to work for us. He always sacrifices his wants and dreams just to make our lives better and happier. As of now, my Dad is working abroad (he is a Civil Engineer). He’s been there for about 4 years and I am very happy that he’s going to have a vacation here in the Philippines this coming Christmas season ( and that’s a great advance Christmas gift for us!).

My Dad gave me all the things that I have now including my Canon EOS 1000D (and all material things), which made my life happier. Yes, material things that he gave me made my life happier and better. Without my Canon EOS 1000D, I’ll never be a photographer. Without my PC, I’ll never be a blogger. See? With those things, he gave me not just a better life with great material things, but he also gave me the urge to dream more and strive for more. He made me as a better person. But of course, let us don’t forget his kind words. I still remember, everytime he was drunk, he always talk to me very serious things. He teach me what I need to know about life, the good things and bad things, his experience on life which I can use to learn something. I know, he’s just drunk whenever he was talking to me that things, but I just can’t explain why I treasure those moments, learning very important things from my own father. And I promise Dad, when you’re home, I’ll drink with you. Ha-ha-ha!

If I’ll tell all the good things that my father made for me (and our family) this post will never end. I just want to thank my Dad for all the efforts that he made to make our lives happier. I dedicate this photo for my Dad (or Daddy as we call him):

Thank You Daddy

Thank You Daddy

Whenever my Dad is coming home, sure thing that he has Toblerones and other chocolates for me and Keith Anne. I still remember when we were in grade school, he always bought huge bags of chocolates for the whole family! Ahh, those sweet chocolates!

And now, that photo above, a “Thank you Daddy” card with two Toblerones, is for my Dad. I am proud to say that, with my own money that I received from my blogging, I bought those two Toblerones for my Dad. Because this time, I want to buy something for my Dad with my very own money. I know this is just a pinch compared on what my Dad gave to me, but that’s a bunch with love and gratitude.

Daddy,

I know you’re really having a hard time working for us, just to make sure that me and Keith Anne will finish our studies, just to make sure that we are eating enough food everyday, just to make sure that we are wearing nice clothes, and just to make sure that we are happy, Daddy, thank you. Thank you for all the efforts, all the things that you’ve done for us. Daddy, I promise that I’ll be a good son. And when I am full grown up, I’ll make sure that you’ll just relax and enjoy the best of life with Mama. I promise that I’ll work for you and Mama just to make sure that you are living the good life. And I promise that someday, you’ll be a proud Dad to me.

Daddy, thank you and I love you.

You’re son,

Kelvin

It should be “Your Son” not “You're Son”.
But anyway, although the photo of that card and toblerones looks really gay, I think your dad would be proud of you.
Family rocks!
Peace!

Wow sarap maging father ang daddy mo hehe ( dahil daw sa EOS )..saan nag wo work ang father mo pare if i may ask? Me as a father, need to do some sacrifices talaga for my own family kaya it's all for the better naman..ang sarap ng toblerone talaga at mura pa compared here sa Pinas.. :-)

That must be so hard, and yet – so gratifying for a father to read these words and know that it's worth the sacrifices. It's a good thing you're serious about your photography (the Canon was definitely a worthwhile purchase there, Dad) and your studies. To hear our kids say “thank you” is so sweet; to see them making good use of the opportunities they're given is doubly sweet.

You know, my Dad said he's proud of me because of my blog (and he also said that even foreigners are commenting on my blog posts). Thank you very much Ate Holly. :)

“And I promise Dad, when you’re home, I’ll drink with you. Ha-ha-ha!”

I was touched by this thought. Though this is a very late comment. Haha

I am missing my dad too. Good for you cos you have a great dad working for his family. 5/10 of teens today live without their dads. Half of that, their dads are dead and the other half, estranged.

Missing my dad so much. (sighs)

Hey, you know what, when my Dad got home last Christmas, we got a chance to drink together! That moment was so unforgettable for father and son. :)
Right now, my Dad is in abroad again, and just like you, I missed him too. Thank you for a wonderful comment, Caloycoy. :)
