The “Be Creative, Shout Your Love” blog contest was my first ever blog project which was really talked about. Many people supported me to pursue this dream project. Doing this thing is no joke, it’s so damn hard, but the rewards are satisfying. With the celebration of my blog’s first year anniversary here on blogosphere, I ended up with this great contest. Yeah, I am very happy with this.
And as of now, the voting arena was shut down. And apparently, you can tell who won. But I have something to tell first. I am disappointed with the 1st place winner. Apparently, the winner has an entry which we can say, effortless. Yeah, I need to say that. I love the work of Jay-L but, yeah, other participants did more than what he had done. I can say that, voting system is a huge mistake. The voting from other people around the web became a hey-vote-for-me-because-I’m-your-friend scheme. More and more people voted not because of the entry but because of friendship. That’s normal, but, not right. In short, it became a popularity contest. But just like what Janette Toral said, blog contests/writing projects can be improved from past mistakes.
Ok, no more drama. Here are the participants with their points:
- Joni – 725 pts.
- Tsi – 685 pts.
- Rommel – 920 pts.
- Paulnatic – 120 pts.
- Kurog – 390 pts.
- Edz- 400 pts.
- Jay-Elx – 1520 pts.
- Don Ewok – 140 pts.
- Poot – 440 pts.
And the winners are:

Great contest

In the first place it’s you who made the system and not the paricipants. It’s unfair to the winner JayL for saying what you feel “I am disappointed with the 1st place winner”. It’s in the system. It’s your system.
You don’t need to tell your readers na you’ve committed mistake. You have made the decision and you must abide by your rules. Don’t regret Bro. It’s not a wrong decision. Actually, you’ve made it! Be thankful.

ang lamang ko lang marami-rami rin naman akong nahatak papunta dito as we can see on your PW stats.
I know wala kayong choice kundi sundin ako.
Salamat Kelvin for putting up this contest bcoz I learn i lot & makes me feel better na maraming handang maglaan ng konting oras para sa’kin.

first of all, congrats sa lahat ng nanalo: to JayL, to Rommel and to baby Joni. woooh!
ok lang yun kelvin.
walang may kasalanan. even I, had a “hey-youre-my-friend-so-vote-for-me” campaign sa facebook. nagkataon lang siguro na mas marami ang friends ni JayL kesa samin.
he also deserves this.
Rommel | September 27, 2009 at 2:20 pm
I agree with Concerned Citizen by the way.
But its your call, its your blog. You can put anything you want in here.
Online ka ba? May offer kasi ako.
Mars | September 27, 2009 at 6:10 pm
sinasabi ko na nga ba na magkakaproblema ang poll system na yan e, pagka ganitong design ang contest, hindi pwede ang poll na basehan at lalo pat yung poll na ginamit e pagkalipas ng isang araw pwede bumoto ulit yung the same ip address, dapat dyan 1 vote per ip address through out the voting season….
basta next time di na uubra yang voting na yan promise, kawawa tuloy yung winner
K.noizki | September 28, 2009 at 1:37 am
Hala! Baka yung mga bomoto eh dahil may magandang pair of genes yung nanalo? Hahaha, J-O-K-E-S!
But I agree with Mars, dapat walang online poll, you know how much the magic click works these days in the net.
Congrats to the winner, personally it wasn’t his fault tho – it can happen to anyone or anykind of online “contest”. More next time, Kevs.

Ehehehe… ConGRAtulationsss! Ehe… Naks!
I didn’t expect those words to come out of Kelvs’ fingers… (Fingers kasi tinype lang… ehehehe…)
Well, we can’t do anything about it now. Ehehehe! Expected ko na yang may magrereklamo na unfair ang naging labanan but not from Kelvin! Ehe…
Ehe…
So, ayun, matuto tayo sa mga pagkakamali.
Favor Kelvs, please delete my entry. Ehe…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dun sa friend ko na na-disappoint sa pagsali ko dito sa contest na ‘to (for his own reasons which I totally understand), sorry… Peace na tayo! Ehe…
Congratulations to all winners! AStig!
And of course to you Kelvs. Galing, congrats for running a successful a blog contest.
Way to go little bro!
Congratulations to all the winners!
Kelvin, remember what I told you last time? Before you run a blog contest, you really need to plan it well, look at all the possibilities and angles and really think it over. But anyways, what’s done is done and like what others have said, just learn from your mistakes. Don’t be disappointed, its all part of learning. At least, next time you know what to do and what not to do.
Btw, next time maybe you can just use a randomizer like random.org or a set of judges (close friends, other bloggers, etc) to choose the winners.
jan geronimo | October 14, 2009 at 3:03 pm
Kelvs, kawawa naman winner mo ng contest. Sana you kept your opinion to yourself na lang. Di naman niya kasalanan iyon eh. He played by the rules naman. Kung ako siguro winner nitong contest mo di na ko magpapakita dito sa hiya.
Buti na lang gracious un winner. Nagbalik pa dito at nagpa thank you.
Marami ka bang feedback na negative re sa winner? E ano naman Kelvin. It’s your contest, your rules. Di mo naman dinisregard yun result to favor another contestant. Kahit well meaning feedback nila, kung sa tingin mo the contestant won it fair and square, okay lang iyon.
It might harm you more Kelvin sa tingin ko lang. It’s your blog siempre pero words can truly hurt, Kelvin. It’s hard to undo when hurtful things have been said. Besides, the object of the contest is for you to create a buzz, di ba? And to win friends na rin?
Jaypee has a great suggestion about random.org and having a select group of friends who’d act as judges for your contest.
Di lang learning experience ito for you. Ganun na rin sa amin who might conduct a contest in the future.
Pareng Kelvs ok lang yan, as i told you later lang, may mga next contests pa, and learn somehow from your past mistakes. Cheers.
