A Story Plus Some Photos of Our Flowerhorn Fish
25 Comments | Posted by Kelvin Servigon in Photography, Thoughts
Almost more than three years ago, my uncle, Edwin Servigon was a Flowerhorn fish fanatic. In their house, there were lots of aquariums containing huge and colorful Flowerhorns! And everytime we visit that house, I couldn’t say anything but a ‘wow’. Flowerhorn fish is just amazing. And FYI, here’s some text about Flowerhorn:
Flowerhorn cichlids are ornamental aquarium fish noted for their vivid colors and the distinctively shaped heads for which they are named. Their head protuberance, or kok, is formally termed a “nuchal hump.” Like blood parrot cichlids, they are man-made hybrids that do not exist in nature. First developed in Malaysia and Taiwan, they are now kept by fish hobbyists worldwide. Some critics have questioned the impact of flowerhorn breeding programs.
from Wikipedia
Now, we have our own Flowerhorn, thanks to my uncle who shared some from his collection. And that was three years ago, too, when this Flowerhorn became part of the family.
And within that three years, many names had been called to this amazing fish. One of them is “Nemo”. WTF, Nemo? Well, that time, Nemo was very popular (because of the film, Finding Nemo) and even “our” Nemo is not a clownfish, we called him as Nemo. That was long time ago. But now, I frequently hearing my mother calling this fish as “Pogi”. LOL, that was very ridiculous! Pogi is a Filipino word meaning handsome. But, hey, our fish deserves that name, right? Wait, here are some proofs.

Random Cuties – Little Girls and Little Boys

Last May 26, I posted a photo set here entitled “Playing rocks with kids“. Having fun with those kids is the core goal of the photoshoot I conducted. Well, the results were good. I had fun, and they had fun, too.
One of my favorite subjects in photography are little children. They express real emotions, and they obey what you say (in my experience, but not all the time).
And with months passed by, I got bunch of photos featuring very cute little boys and girls. And I know, this must be published online, for the world to see the great smiles these kids have.

Cool Tumblr Layouts For Your Tumblr Blog

Blogging is fun. Yeah, I just proved it to myself. And they say, that blogging with a self-hosted blog via WordPress.org is funner! But, that’s not fun at all. Why? Because, you have to pay this, and that, and this for your “very own” blog. But why pay, if there’s free? Now, that’s what we call fun!
Blogger has been the major FREE blog platform for many blogs today. Blogger is great indeed. But we shouldn’t stick to Blogger. We need to try something new. Something, funner. And here comes the, Tumblr.
Tumblr is a great free blog platform, especially for on-the-go bloggers. It’s like Twitter because of its simplicity.
And of course, as you enter the world of blogging with Tumblr (or any blogging platforms), you’ll surely enter the world of complicated CSS, Javascript, PHP and so many codes, which is the skeletal system of your blog. Without these, you’re blog is a mess.

Wedding Photography: The Masaoay-Lopez Wedding

Little girls in little gowns, flowers around, and chatting people in the church, ah, those are few things I always see everytime I’m with the Family Affairs Event Specialist photographers and coordinators in a wedding ceremony. I worked there last school vacation as an assistant photographer.
Last April 7, 2009 I posted here some photos I took in the Jason and Arlene wedding ceremony. And when I was browsing the photo set of Jason and Arlene wedding, I saw another set of photos, the Masaoay-Lopez Nuptial. The Masaoay-Lopez Nuptial was held at the same day Mr. and Mrs. Jason and Arlene got married. I still remembered, at the Paradise Hotel, we had two wedding photo shoots that day, and that was so exhausting.
What I did in the photo set of Masaoay-Lopez wedding was I picked the best shots in the set and readied it to be posted online. And in 88 photos, I picked the magic five. And here they are:

Nokia is today’s one of the greatest mobile phone manufacturers. Their products can be seen almost all over the world. And as a matter of fact, I am now using Nokia’s 6500 Slide and Nokia N76 phones. I love using them because of their good usability features, and of course, its great external look.
And as an entry for the touchscreen trend in the world of mobile phones, Nokia released Nokia 5800 XpressMusic touchscreen phone. But, I, and almost everyone, expected that Nokia would release their first touchscreen phone in their prestigious Nokia Nseries phone line-up.
And this month of June, Nokia released its most awaited touchscreen, with a glamorous tag of Nokia Nseries, the Nokia N97. And if you are craving for this touchscreen phone from Nokia, you should consult the great mobile phone site for this, Omio – the expert.
Omio is a mobile phone website that features different deals in different mobile phones, and one of them is the nokia n97. Omio’s Nokia N97 page tells all, from the top features, design, up to the full specs, it has all the information for Nokia’s top phone as of now. Nokia N97 is an upgrade of the of the groovy Nokia N96, but of course, with more cool features.
So, if you’re planning to buy a mobile phone, with good interface and touchscreen, try Nokia N97 using Omio’s online mobile phones shop.
